PTA

Welcome to the Parent Teacher Association

The PTA raises funds for the school and it also helps to provide curriculum information for parents. Over recent years, we have raised more than £11,000: only the students and school benefit from these funds and to date we have been able to provide

  • extra curriculum resources across every subject
  • numerous rewards for student achievement
  • valuable equipment such as visualisers, access to online resources and musical equipment
  • software, lighting and film production kit
  • mentoring resources
  • a wealth of items for classrooms and teaching aids

Every single department in the school can benefit from these additional funds and so your child will also have benefited. There is no subscription fee and you will automatically be a member for as long as your child attends the school.

Who is on the Committee?

·         Chair – Naumaan Qamar

·         Treasurer – Lasantha Gunatilaka

·         Secretary – Lana Gandhi

·         SLT link – Mr R Johnston (Assistant Deputy Head)

What do you get out of becoming more involved in the PTA?

A sense of belonging to the school community
Get to find out a little more about what’s going on in the school
Get to know some of the teaching staff
Contribute directly to your own child’s schooling
Give something back to the school community
Contribute to discussions about how the money raised is spent
Bring new ideas to the table
Have some fun! We do have a few ‘socials’ which are a great way to get to know some other parents

How do we raise money?

Following feedback this year, we would also like to continue our uniform re-purposing service with the aim of providing students with high quality second-hand school uniform for a donation. If you feel you could help the school with this, or spare a little time to help out in another way, please email PTA@draytonmanorhighschool.co.uk or come along to our next meeting (dates below).

Car boot sales

Unfortunately, our regular Car Boot Sales have been temporarily postponed for this year as we are in the process of recruiting a new manager to oversee the event. We understand this may be disappointing for our regular visitors and sellers, and we sincerely appreciate your patience during this time.

If you or someone you know is interested in taking on this role and helping to bring back this much-loved event, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us at PTA@draytonmanorhighschool.co.uk. We would be delighted to hear from you.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Car Boot Sales soon!

PTA meetings

The PTA meets regularly to talk about fundraising activities, discuss issues related to the school, and to get an update from the Senior Leadership Team representative on recent school activities and initiatives. The meetings are very relaxed so if you just want to come along to the occasional meeting, that’s absolutely fine, please just get in touch at PTA@draytonmanorhighschool.co.uk.

DRAYTON MANOR TAKES ON THE EALING HALF MARATHON

Congratulations and a huge thank you to the staff and parents of Drayton Manor High School who took on the Ealing Half Marathon to raise vital funds for our Parent Teacher Association (PTA).This fantastic effort was made possible through the dedication of our PTA, who played a key role in coordinating the event and bringing our school community together in support of an important cause. A special thank you also goes to Mr Johnston, Assistant Deputy Head, for coordinating staff participation and helping to ensure such a strong turnout from the Drayton Manor Staff team.A huge thank you to the following staff and parents for their commitment, determination and community spirit:

  • Mr R Johnson (staff)

  • Mr R Boniface (staff)

  • Mr M Jampani (staff)

  • Mr D Hepburn (staff)

  • Ms A Stevenson (staff)

  • Mrs G Walker (staff)

  • Ms S Kilford (staff)

  • Ms S Ward (staff)

  • Mr J Mistry (staff)

  • Mr C Bussetti (staff)

  • Mrs S Marjoniemi (parent)

  • Mrs M Maniak-Griffifths (parent)

A particular mention goes to Mr Busetti, who completed the race in an impressive time of 1 hour 39 minutes, setting the benchmark for our Drayton Manor runners and shaving 3 minutes off of Mr Boniface’s time from last year. The support from our school community extended far beyond the finish line. At the front of the school, students and staff organised a vibrant cheer station, providing much-needed refreshments, music, encouragement and plenty of energy to keep our runners going. Their enthusiasm and support embodied the very best of Drayton Manor's community spirit.Together, we have so far raised £1440 for the school, helping to fund opportunities and resources that directly benefit our students.
