Library

The library provides students with modern, reliable resources which allow them to study in a calm and meaningful learning environment. We encourage students to select books to read for pleasure and aim to instill in them a lifelong love of reading. Above all, we strive to provide our students with the tools and environment to achieve excellence in whatever they do.

The learning space is a silent study area for students to do coursework, finish homework, or read books and journals. We have up-to-date collections of both reading books and other media, and students are encouraged to read and borrow books both for school work and for pleasure. The librarians are available to assist students with recommendations for choosing reading materials.

Every student has a library lending account. Year 7 students receive an induction to using the library and a Library Lesson each half term to teach them about all aspects of using the library so that they can become confident independent library users.

There are 60 laptops in the library for students to use for completing homework and study.

Sixth Form students have dedicated spaces to study in the library.
